Discussion 3 late Roman silver coins were found in close proximity in the plough soil. Although 175 other Roman coins were also found in the area (being recorded onto the Portable Antiquities Database), it seems that that these silver coins come from the same group. They date from 355 to…

A fragment from a 4th-century silver Roman siliqua of Julian (as Augustus), votive wreath reverse, either Lyon or Arles mint (360-363 AD; Reece issue period 18). The fragment shows signs of deliberate cutting, and approximates to around a quarter of the original coin, perhaps slightly less. Although a cut fragment, the coin is not clipped at the edge.
