A chipped Roman copper-alloy nummus of Magnentius dating to the period AD 350-353 (Reece Period 18). GLORIA ROMANORVM reverse type depicting soldier on horseback riding down a captive right. Probably mint of Trier. The entire circumference is chipped. Magnentius and Decentius were usurpers under whom larger than normal coins were issued. In 354, Contantius II outlawed these larger coins, probably at least in part to damn the memory of the unsuccessful usurpers.
