A Roman gold solidus of Constantine I (AD 306-337), dating to the period c.AD 313-315 (Reece period 15). VIRTVS AVGVSTI N reverse type depicting the Emperor galloping right, spearing enemy, second enemy with shield below horse. Mint of Trier. As RIC VII, p. 167, no. 36. This coin type is not listed in Bland and Loriot's corpus of Roman gold coins found in Britain (Bland and Loriot, 2010) and is only the fourth gold coin on the PAS dating to the Tetrarchic period.
