A pierced copper-alloy Roman nummus of Galerius (AD 293-311), probably dating to the period c.AD 303-307 (Reece period 15). GENIO POPV[LI ROMANI] reverse type depicting Genius standing left? Probably mint of Trier. The coin has a large central circular hole, likely the result of being deliberately pierced by a nail or similar object in antiquity and perhaps to modify its function. The coin is 26.93mm in diameter, 2.07mm in thickness and weighs 6.01g.
