A very worn, overcleaned copper-alloy nummus of an uncertain tetrarchic ruler, dating to AD 294-307 (Reece Period 15). Reverse: probably GENIO POPVLI ROMANI. Possibly mint of Lyon. This coin has been pierced, presumably for use as a jewellery item at a later date. Although this practice occurred in the Roman period it is most commonly documented as an early-medieval practice. The piercing respects neither obverse or reverse designs.

A very worn and corroded 4th-century copper-alloy Roman nummus of a Tetrarchic emperor, probably 'GENIO POP ROM', uncertain mint (307-318 AD; Reece issue period 17). This flan is an odd teardrop shape, indicating part of the coin has broken off. However, the edge is worn and abraded, suggesting the break is very old.
