Copper alloy coin. Tetrarchic Nummus, Genio Populi Romani issue of 294-313, Reece period 15. Pierced at 9 O'clock obverse with drilled hole of diameter 2.7mm; the conversion of old Roman coins to pendants or amulets was common in the Early Anglo-Saxon period. Obverse description: Bust laureate right . Obverse inscription: present but too worn for confident transcription; Reverse description: Genius standing left with right arm outstretched and holding cloak over left arm. Reverse inscription: G[ENIO POPVLI RO]MANI Diameter: 23.6mm, Weight: 3.57gms, die axis: 6
