The coin has a patch of silver metal visible at 4 o'clock on the obverse. Nummi of this period were agentiferous copper alloy, ie they contained a small content of silver (decreasing from 4% in AD 307 to 1.5% in AD 310). The patch is presuambly a patch of higher silver content metal due to incomplete mixing of the molten metal prior to product…
