Obverse legend reads I[AC]OBVS / [SECVN]DVS. Reverse shows Britannia seated left. Reverse legend reads [BR]I[T]AN/[NI]A. Die axis is 6 o'clock. A complete but worn tin farthing of James II dating to AD 1685-1687 (James died in 1688). The tin farthing is complete with the copper alloy plug (although this appears white like lead) still in the centre. The coin is corroded but part of the external inscription edge remains however this is mostly unreadable. The obverse and reverse are clear enough to read most of the inscriptions.
