A cast tin/copper alloy Primary Phase potin, 'Thurrock' type with head of Apollo left and bull butting right; above, [M]A. Late 2nd century BC (BMC IA, 660-5; Brenot and Scheers 673). The coin appears to have a copper alloy core with a tinned surface; probably deliberately manufactured to bring the tin to the surface rather than being plated. Sprue survives at the top and the bottom of the coin. The thickness of the coin at the centre is 3.7mm. A similar coin has been recorded fom Croxley Green Parish, Hertfordshire.
