A possible contemporary forgery of a Roman silver plated denarius probably copying an issue of Septimius Severus (AD 193-211). There is significant material loss and green copper corrrosion product around the edges of the coin suggesting it is on a copper alloy core and therefore irregular. Reece period 10. Dimensions: diameter 16.7mm; thickness 2.4mm; weight 1.75g
