An Iron Age silver unit of eastern Gaul. Delestree & Tache 3195ff Philip de Jersey comments: "It's a fairly common type from eastern Gaul, probably from the territory of the Lingones or the Aedui, with the inscription 'Kaletedou' in Greek script on the reverse. The inscription soon becomes blundered and you end up with not much more than KA over the horse and a variety of symbols below. The coinage was produced over a long period, from the late second century BC through into the mid-first century BC, and I would guess that this one is later rather than earlier, so perhaps c. 75 BC

An almost complete cast tin-bronze potin of Late Iron Age date, c. 70 BC – c. 30 BC. Diameter: 20.8mm; maximum thickness: 2.7mm. Weight: 3.07g. The coin has a flange of about 2.0mm in width. The obverse has a design consisting of a central pellet with a central straight line at either side which divides the flan into two halves. Each half has wavy lines and pellets. The reverse has a stylised and crudely represented galloping horse facing right.
