Roman coin; struck silver denarius of Nero dating to AD 67-68. Jupiter reverse. Sear notes that this reverse is “Referring, in all probability, to Nero’s deliverance from the conspiracy of C. Calpurnius Piso in AD 65”.
Obv. Laureate head of emperor right. Note that in this example the ribbons of the laurel extend over the emperor’s neck, which is unusual.

Reverse type: Roma standing right, foot on helmet (next to dagger and bow), inscribing shield on knee. RIC I, p. 152, cf. no. 28. The prototype for this coin, struck at Rome, is very rare.
