Roman silver denarius of Elagabalus (218-222 AD), IMP TRP II SOL II COS PP (Sol standing with whip) reverse type, minted at Rome, 219 AD. RIC vol. IV, pg. 29, Elagabalus 17. A chipped one side shows evidence of lamination and green corrosion suggests a contempory copy. However, the green area is slightly too small to be a copper core and could be an indication of surface enrichment treatment, possibly naturally during the striking process.
