A broken denarius of Elagabalus, 218-222 AD. One third of the coin is missing to the right of the obverse bust due to an old break. Reverse: INVICTVS SACE[], Elagabalus standing left sacrificing over an altar and holding a club in his left hand. See Sear, 1998: no. 2100.

?denarius forgery - metal looks like copper alloy, coin details probably a denarius and the emperor (perhaps Elagabalus, though legend fragment could be Severus or Caracalla) apparently has a Vesta reverse (normally imperial ladies at this date). The margins of the coin are corroded, and there is some iron stained concretion on the surfaces.
