A Roman coin; a silver denarius of Commodus (177-192AD). There is a small chip out of the flan at 7 o'clock on the obverse and a small amount of a black deposit on the reverse. It is 15.6mm in diameter and 2mm thick. It weighs 2.06gm. This coin is not listed in Sear, but the design matches that of the gold aureus at reference number 5574.

A Roman silver coin: a denarius of Commodus as augustus, dating from AD190 - 191 (Reece period 9). The reverse legend reads: GEN AVG FELIC COS VI. The reverse type depicts Genius standing, facing left, sacrificing from a patera over an altar and holding a cornucopia. Rome mint. Reference: RIC volume 3, number 227. There are some edge chips to the flan between 2 o'clock and 4 o'clock on the obverse. The coin is otherwise in VF condition. It is 18mm in diameter and 1.8mm thick. It weighs 2.1gm.
