A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Caracalla (AD 196 - 217) dating from AD 199 (Reece Period 10). SPES PVBLICA reverse type depicting Spes advancing left, holding flower and lifting skirt. Eastern Mint, possibly mint of Laodicea. RIC IV part 1, number 341. Sear Voume II, number 6889 on page 527. The coin is 19mm diameter, 2.4mm thick and oval. 2.1g. Compare NMS-6C3D24 and LIN-6C12B5.
