A Roman silver coin: a denarius of Caracalla (198 - 217). It is struck on an oval flan that is 20.4mm long and 19mm wide. It is almost the same as Sear Volume II number 6909, but the bust is not draped and cuirassed. It shows the emperor sacrificing over a tripod altar on the reverse.

A Roman silver coin: a denarius of Tiberius dating from AD 14 - 37 (Reece period 1), the reverse legend PONTIF MAXIM (retrograde). The reverse depicts a female figure, seated right on a chair with ornate legs, holding a sceptre and olive branch, a single line below. The mint Lyon. Reference: RIC I, number 30.
The coin is 19.3mm in diameter and 2.1mm thick. It weighs 3.5gm. It should be noted that modern reproductions of this coin exist and the bumpy surface of the field may suggest that this coin is a copy.

The coin is 19.1mm diameter, 2.6mm thick and 3.18g. There are cracks in the edge of the flan.
