A Roman silver coin; a denarius of Vespasian dating from AD 77 - 79 (Reece period 4), Sow and piglets reverse type, depicting a sow, walking left, with three piglets below, all above an exergue containing the inscription  IMP XI[X] or IMP XI[II]. Mint of Rome. RIC II Part 1, number 982, 984 or 986. Compare http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.2_1(2).ves.982. The coin is 17.1mm in diameter and 1.9mm thick. It weighs 2.24g. The obverse is damaged and is almost completely illegible.

Mint of Rome. RIC IV Septimius Severus 74. See http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.4.ss.74 Measurements are; length 16.5mm, width 14.2mm, thickness 2.2mm and weight 1.52g. The edges of the coin are damaged, revealing the copper alloy core under the silver plating.
