A base silver Roman coin; probably a denarius of Caracalla (AD 211 - 217) dating from AD 201 (Reece Period 10). PART MAX PONT TR P IIII reverse type depicting two captives, seated back to back, mourning, left and right of central trophy. Mint of Rome. Probably RIC IV Caracalla 54 (http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.4.crl.54A). The coin is 18.3mm in diameter, 2.1mm thick and weighs 2.84g.
