A Roman coin; a silver denarius of Commodus (177-192AD). There is a small chip out of the flan at 7 o'clock on the obverse and a small amount of a black deposit on the reverse. It is 15.6mm in diameter and 2mm thick. It weighs 2.06gm. This coin is not listed in Sear, but the design matches that of the gold aureus at reference number 5574.

A silver Roman coin; a Denarius of Septimius Severus (193 - 211), INDVLGENTIA AVGG IN CARTH type dating from about 204 AD. The coin reverse shows Dea Caelestis holding a thunderbolt and sceptre seated facing forwards on a lion leaping over water which gushes from a rock on the left. See Sear number 6285.

A copper alloy and silvered Roman coin; a contemporary copy of a denarius probably of Hadrian (117 - 138), with Spes (probably) on the reverse (probably AD 125). The coin has a diameter of 18.7mm and is 2.4mm thick. The silvering is wearing off displaying the brown copper alloy underneath. The legends are illegible. A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Severus Alexander (AD 222 - 235) with Aequitas on the reverse, issued at the Rome mint in AD 222. The coin is hardly worn, but there are several chips and areas of corrosion. For reference see Sear Volume II, number 7856 which is identical except that it has a star in the left field. This is because it is from a different mint. The coin has a diameter of 18.5mm, is 2.3mm thick and weighs 2.36g. The silver has tarnished to a dull black colour.
