A Roman silver coin: a denarius of Marcus Aurelius as Caesar, dating from AD 161 (Reece period 7). The reverse reads TR POT XV COS III, and depicts Pietas standing between two children, facing left and holding two more children in her arms. Rome mint. For reference, see Sear, volume 2, number 4799. It is 17.1mm in diameter and 2mm thick. It weighs 2.09gm.

The reverse legend reads COS V P P S P Q R OPTIMO PRINC; the reverse type depicts Fortuna standing, facing left, holding rudder and cornucopia with the forepart of a ship to the left of her feet. The mint is Rome. Compare Sear, volume 2, number 3125. The coin is 18.3mm in diameter and 2.6mm thick. It weighs 2.97gm.
