A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Hadrian (117 – 138), COS III (119 – 122). The reverse is probably Jupiter holding a thunderbolt and a sceptre. The coin has a diameter of 19.9mm and is 1.9mm thick. It weighs 2.8g and is in good condition. It was minted in Rome. For reference see Roman Imperial Coinage II, number 64.

A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Severus Alexander (AD 222 – 235) with Aequitas on the reverse, issued at the Rome mint in AD 222. The coin is hardly worn, but there are several chips and areas of corrosion. For reference see Sear Volume II, number 7856 which is identical except that it has a star in the left field. This is because it is from a different mint. The coin has a diameter of 18.5mm, is 2.3mm thick and weighs 2.36g. The silver has tarnished to a dull black colour.

The coin is a regular series denarius, depicting clasped hands holding a legionary eagle on the reverse, dating from AD 79. See Sear Volume I number 2643. It is 18.2mm in diameter and 2.1mm thick. It weighs 2.27gm.
