Measurements are; length 16.5mm, width 14.2mm, thickness 2.2mm and weight 1.52g. The edges of the coin are damaged, revealing the copper alloy core under the silver plating.

A Roman coin; a contemporary copy of a silver denarius (copper alloy plated with silver) copying a coin of Caracalla (AD 198 - 217), dating from AD 201 (Reece Period 10). The reverse reads RECTOR ORBIS and depicts Caracalla naked, facing forward, head left, holding globe and resting on a spear. Mint of Rome. See Sear number 6880 on page 526 of Volume II, and RIC number 39a. The coin is 18.6mm diameter, 1.9mm thick and 1.93g.

A Roman silver coin: a denarius of Caracalla (198 - 217). It is struck on an oval flan that is 20.4mm long and 19mm wide. It is almost the same as Sear Volume II number 6909, but the bust is not draped and cuirassed. It shows the emperor sacrificing over a tripod altar on the reverse.
