A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Hadrian (AD 117 - 138), dating from AD 134 - 138, (Reece period 6). Probably HADRIANVS AVG COS III PP, laureate bust right. TELLVS STABIL, Tellus standing left holding plough with right hand and short rake in left hand. To right two stalks of grain. Compare RIC II, p. 372, no. 276. There is a chip missing from the edge at 8 o'clock on the obverse. The coin is 16.8mm in diameter and 2.2mm thick. It weighs 2.62gm. Compare also Sear Volume II, number 3543 on page 151.
