An incomplete silver Roman coin; a denarius of the deified Marcus Aurelius issued under Commodus, dating from AD 180 (Reece period 9). CON[SECRATIO reverse type depicting An Eagle standing right on a globe, head turned left. Mint of Rome.  RIC III Commodus 273 (http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.3.com.273). Measurements are; length 10.7mm, width 16.7mm, thickness 1.8mm and weight 1.53g. Just over half the coin survives.

Mint of Rome. RIC II Part 1, number 982, 984 or 986. Compare http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.2_1(2).ves.982. The coin is 17.1mm in diameter and 1.9mm thick. It weighs 2.24g. The obverse is damaged and is almost completely illegible.
