A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Julia Domna under Septimius Severus (194 - 211 AD), Mater Deum type. See Sear number 6593 which was minted in 198 AD. The coin is silver, but it has copper corrosion on the surface above the silver, perhaps suggesting proximity to copper alloy coins or objects at some point.
