A Roman silver denarius fragment, dating to the reign of Tiberius (AD 14-37). Reece period 1. Obverse depicts the bust of Tiberius and the inscription is illegible, but would have read TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS. The reverse shows a female figure, draped, seated right on chair, holding branch in left hand and long sceptre in right hand. Chair has plain legs with double line below. The inscription is no longer visible but would have read PONTIF MAXIM. RIC Vol. 1 no. 26, p.95. Dimensions: estimated diameter: c. 18 mm; weight: 0.92g.

A fragment of a silver denarius of Augustus (27 BC-AD 14), dating 2 BC-AD 4. Reece period 1. Obverse depicts head of Augustus facing right. Reverse depicts Gaius and Lucius Caesar, on left and right, standing front, each togate and resting hand on shield. Behind each shield, a spear, above the shields are a simpulum right (on left) and lituus left (on right). Due to it's condition the inscription is not very clear on either side.
