Obverse depicts the bust of Tiberius and the inscription is illegible, but would have read TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS. The reverse shows a female figure, draped, seated right on chair, holding branch in left hand and long sceptre in right hand. Chair has plain legs with double line below. The inscription is no longer visible but would have read PONTIF MAXIM. RIC Vol. 1 no. 26, p.95. Dimensions: estimated diameter: c. 18 mm; weight: 0.92g.

A Roman contemporary silver plated forgery (fourrée) of a denarius of Tiberius (AD 14-37) (Reece Period 1). On the obverse, the silver plating is missing from most of the bust. The legend, in retrograde, is still legible: TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS. The reverse is missing most of the silver plating. The underlying copper-alloy core is severely corroded making identification to one of the two possible reverse types (Quadriga, or Livia as Pax) impossible.
