There is no legend visible on the obverse but it originally read GENIO PR. The reverse depicts Mars, naked except for a helmet right, holding javelin and a round shield, with MARTI VLTORI. A silver Roman denarius of the Civil Wars, c.AD 68 (Reece period 3). PACI P R revese type depictign Clasped hands holding winged caduceus. This rare piece was struck between April and June AD 68 by Galba in Spain. Galba had agreed to join the revolt against Nero so started to strike coins. Some of the early coins did bear his name and portrait, but others looked back to the past. One issue bore the head of Augustus. This particular coin is copied from a Republican coin of L.
