RIC IV, pt 1, c.f. 391 The coin has a rusty appearance which might suggest the coin is a contemporary copy; however, the coin is of good style and the appearance might be caused by the base nature of the silver and/or iron salts in the ground.

A fragment of a silver denarius, possibly of Plautilla, dating to c. AD 202-4 (Reece Period 10, possibly with Caracalla and Plautilla clasping hands on the reverse. Mint of Rome. This type is known with two legends, PROPAGO IMPERI and CONCORDIAE AETERNAE - see BMC V, pl 38, nos 1 and 3 for possible type. If this is not a coin of Plautilla, it is definitely a Severan period denarius of a bare-headed Caesar or an Empress.
