Silver denarius of Julia Domna, struck under Caracalla (211-17), VESTA, Rome. RIC IV, pt 1, c.f. 391 The coin has a rusty appearance which might suggest the coin is a contemporary copy; however, the coin is of good style and the appearance might be caused by the base nature of the silver and/or iron salts in the ground.
