An incomplete silver-plated contemporary copy of a denarius of Caracalla (AD 198-217) with a reverse typical to Julia Domna (AD 193-211), dating to c. AD 198-200 (Reece Period 10), PIETAS PVBLICA, Pietas standing left at altar, raising both arms. Prototype Mint of Rome. RIC IV, pt 1, p. 170, cf. no. 574 (reverse). The obverse legend, ANTONINVS PIVS AVG is rarely used (see RIC IV, pt 1, p. 220, nos. 54-55A). Note that RIC does include a hybrid of this reverse with an obverse of Geta (RIC IV, pt 1, p. 316, no. 14).
