This coin was originally recorded as being of Macrinus, however the obverse legend and reverse type appear closer to coins of Severus Alexander.

The coin has lost close to 70 percent of the original but that which is left, has clear indications for Severus Alexander. The obverse has the laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right and the reverse has Jupiter standing front, head right, naked but for cape flowing out to right.
