A silver-plated contemporary copy, probably of a denarius of Septimius Severus (AD 193-211), dating to c. AD 194-5 (Reece Period 10), BO[NA/AE SPES/I), Spes advancing left, holding flower and skirt. Prototype: Eastern Mint. RIC IV, pt. 1, p. 140, cf. nos 364-6. Although silver denarii of this period can have surface verdigris due to base metal in the silver, this piece does appear to show the base-metal core of a plated coin.

An incomplete silver denarius of Severus Alexander c. 222 - 235 AD. Reece Period 11. The coin has lost close to 70 percent of the original but that which is left, has clear indications for Severus Alexander. The obverse has the laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right and the reverse has Jupiter standing front, head right, naked but for cape flowing out to right.

A Roman copper alloy denarius (probably a silver-washed denarius) of Geta, dating to the period AD 203 - 208. Reece Period 10. The obverse has the draped bust right, with Minerva standing left, leaning on shield and holding sceptre, on the reverse. The coin has been broken in antiquity loosing around 25% of the rim/coin. This style of coin is more typically found as a silver denarius, it may be that this was a 'coated' coin but now lost in the passage of time. The reverse type is most similar to RIC no. 556, although the official coin depicts the emperor facing right. A contemporary copy of a silver denarius of Julia Domna, struck under Septimus Severus c. 193 - 211 AD (Reece Period 10). The Obverses has the portrait head right and the reverse shows Cybele seated flanked by lions. The coin has a copper alloy core with a white metal coating that has fragmented, leaving the corroded CA core visible.
