(F)OR(T)[...] reverse type depicting Fortuna standing left holding rudder and cornucopiae. Probably an Eastern Mint coin (Emesa or Laodicea ad Mare). cf. RIC IV.1 no. 376ff for the possible reverse type.

A silver-plated contemporary copy, probably of a denarius of Septimius Severus (AD 193-211), dating to c. AD 194-5 (Reece Period 10), BO[NA/AE SPES/I), Spes advancing left, holding flower and skirt. Prototype: Eastern Mint. RIC IV, pt. 1, p. 140, cf. nos 364-6. Although silver denarii of this period can have surface verdigris due to base metal in the silver, this piece does appear to show the base-metal core of a plated coin.
