A plated silver Roman denarius of Vespasian (AD 69-79), dating to the period c.AD 69-79 (Reece period 4). Unclear reverse type possibly depicting Salus or similar seated figure left on throne. Prototype of the mint of Rome. cf. RIC II.1 (2nd ed.), no. 522 for a possible reverse type.  The coin is 19.2mm in diameter, 1.5mm thick, and weighs 2.42g. It is unusually thin for a denarius and has a light green patina with a silver wash.

Complete, but damaged, silver denarius of Vespasian (69-79 CE), dated to 69-79 CE, Reece period 4. Obv: Laureate head facing right. IMP CAESAR VESPASIANUS AVG. Rev: COSITER T[]RO[ ]. Type: Pax seated left holding branch and cadeuceus. RIC II 10, S2285 The right part of the reverse legend is missing and the flan has a straight edge, indicating that the coin was clipped or otherwise damaged. A depression or deep scrape has damaged the reverse in a sector between 1 and 3 o'clock of the flan. this damage does not show on the obverse.
