An early 5th-century gold solidus of Honorius (393-423 AD), 'VICTORIA AVGGG', struck at Ravenna, 402-406 AD (R.I.C. 1287d) found in relation with find ID HAMP-F71BD4.
The coins
The coins, both gold solidi, were issued by the Roman emperor Honorius (AD 393-423). One was made at the mint in his then capital Ravenna between AD 402-6, while the other was made at nearby Milan in the period AD 395-402. Catalogue has been produced by Robert Webley, Finds Liaison Officer for Hampshire.

A bent late 4th- or early 5th-century gold Roman solidus of Honorius (393-423 AD), 'VICTORIA AVGGG', struck at Milan, 395-402 AD (R.I.C. 1206a) found in relation with find ID HAMP-F6F384.
The coins
The coins, both gold solidi, were issued by the Roman emperor Honorius (AD 393-423). One was made at the mint in his then capital Ravenna between AD 402-6, while the other was made at nearby Milan in the period AD 395-402. Catalogue has been produced by Robert Webley, Finds Liaison Officer for Hampshire.

A Roman gold quinarius of Septimius Severus (AD 193-211), reverse: COS III PP around Victory advancing left holding wreath and palm. Minted in Rome, this coin is not recorded in RIC but its closest parallel is a silver quinarius (minted in Rome c. AD 202-10; RIC IV, pt. 1, p. 123, no. 258).

A fragment of a Roman gold coin, probably a contemporary copy of a solidus of the House of Valentinian (AD 364-78) with garbled legends. The obverse appears to be OH VALE[ ] which is probably copying D N VALE[NS or NTINIANVS P F AVG] and the reverse is [ ]ITVOR[ ] which most likely copies RESTIVTOR REI PVBLICAE or similar, with and emperor standing, holding Victory on globe and standard. The reverse depicts a beaded upright, which seems to be part of the pole of the standard.
