The coin is pierced with a large hole punched through the back of the King's neck, having a diameter of 2.7mm. Compare number 3386 on page 339 of Spink's Standard catalogue (2011). A contemporary forgery of a George III Halfpenny confirmed by Greg Spink of Spinks London. Apparently common around this possible date of 1775 (the last digit in exergue is not fully identifiable).
