Probably a silver love token, fashioned from a coin, and probably dating from the Post Medieval period, about AD 1674-1850. The coin from which the token has been made is probably a milled sixpence, but is illegible and otherwise unidentifiable; although love tokens are commonly made from worn William III (1694-1702) issues. The coin has been bent into the classic S-shape, probably for use either as a love token or a good luck token and it has been highly polished. Thickness: 1.0mm; Weight: 1.36g; Diameter: 19.4mm
