This denomination was minted in silver, however this example is copper alloy with a large amount of retained silver coating.

This example is the right size but is lighter than the official issues of around 15g, a trait often seen on forgeries of the period. Other examples of contemporary half crown William III forgeries recorded on the PAS database include: WAW-0DF698 and SUSS-9941E6.
