An incomplete, clipped, post-medieval silver hammered half groat of King Henry VIII (AD 1509-1547), a posthumous example issued under Edward VI (AD 1547-1553) dating c. 1547 - 1551. As North (1991) no: 1881. Coin is fragile with a crack where it has been bent across the flan. The double pellet stops suggest this is a posthumous issue.
It measures 18.9mm in diameter, 1.26mm in thickness, and weighs 0.74g.

There is a short tear (c. 5.00mm) at 3 o'clock and a longer tear (c. 11.85mm) around 8 o'clock that corresponds to a forward bend from 8 o'clock to half past 1 on the obverse.

A circle can just be seen, and a possible 'XII' at approx 3 o'clock, none of the legend or bust is visible. MEV'. meaning I have made God my helper, A Tun mintmark can be seen just after 12 o'clock. The coin weighs 4.2g and has a diameter of 31.05mm.
