A silver washed copper alloy contemporary forgery / copy of a shilling of Edward VI. It is most probably from his third issue (1550-3); ; initial mark: illegible; mint: probably London or Southwark.
Diameter 27.8mm, thickness 0.4mm. Weight 1.33 grams
The coin is poorly struck and is underweight and very thin.

Post Medieval coin: silver, or more likely, base silver Shilling of Edward VI (1547-1553) minted in an uncertain mint between 1547 and 1553. The coin when found was bent in half and the finder has since straightened it.

An extremely worn and corroded, incomplete mid-16th century copper-alloy post-medieval shilling of Edward VI, first period, London mint (1547-1549 AD; North 1896).
Around a third of the coin has been lost at the circumference and into the coin. The remainder is slightly bent and creased, with three perforations.
