A very worn and corroded plated halfcrown of the Commonwealth period AD 1649-1660, probably a forgery. The coin is made of copper alloy coated with white metal. The obverse shows a portion of the inscription [THE COMMONWE] ALTH OF EN[GLAND] separated by dots. The reverse possibly shows the outer edge of a shield surrounded by a very worn circumferential border with only a V left of the inscription.
