A Post Medieval coin; a Scottish twenty pence of Charles I (AD 1625 - 1649), perhaps a contemporary copy as the material looks to be base silver or copper alloy rather than silver. It is probably imitating a Class IV twenty pence of the third coinage (1637 - 1642). Compare Seaby number 5589 on page 84 of Coins of Scotland, Ireland and the Islands. The coin is 16mm diameter, 0.6mm thick and is 0.97g.

It is slightly unusual in that it has a pellet instead of the usual lozenge above the bust of the king. It is 14.6mm in diameter and 0.6mm thick. It weighs 0.59gm.
