An incomplete/ badly clipped struck/ hammered silver shilling of Charles I, minted at the Tower of London, between AD 1625 - 1649 (diameter: 21mm; thickness: 0.8mm; weight: 3.3g). No initial mark remains; probable Group F bust. The coin is in a worn but fair condition.
Ref: North, J, J, 1991, 'English Hammered Coinage Volume 2: Edward I to Charles II 1272 - 1662', page 160, ref nos 2231-2 (probably).

A fragment of a silver struck/ hammered Charles I shilling (33mm x 20mm; thickness: 1.2mm; weight: 6.75g), minted at the Tower under parliament between 1642-8 AD. The reverse is similar to Classes 4E-4G illustrated in Richard Lobel's 'Coincraft's Standard Catalogue of English & UK Coins 1066 to date', page 235. The coin fragment is in a fair condition with the detail on the obverse being completely worn, apart from parts of the inscription.
