A silver penny of Charles I dating to the period AD 1625 - 1649. Oval garnished shield reverse. Two pellets initial mark. Mint of London. Fifth bust. Group E. North Vol 2, p.163, no.2272. The coin has been clipped and is pierced at 9 o'clock on the obverse.

A silver Post Medieval coin; a sixpence (possibly a groat) of Charles I (AD 1625 - 1649), probably Aberystwyth mint dating from AD 1638 - 1642. There is a plume before the king's face and the reverse is an oval garnished shield. The coin is incomplete, with only about a third surviving. It is 23.8mm long, 10.8mm wide and 1mm thick. 1.33g. See number 2333 - 2336 on page 171 of North Volume 2 (1991).
