A plated copy of a Charles I Silver Half-crown c. 1625 - 1649 AD. The obverse with the King on horseback left and the reverse with near oval, quartered garnished shield. The coin has damage to the edge and is heavily worn and abraded leading to a significant weight loss at just 8.6gm. The wear and damage has obliterating most of the features, given that the scoring is at around 90 degrees to each other, this may have been a deliberate defacing. Probably Tower Mint under the King, 1628-9 or 1638-9
