Silver coin. Possibly a shilling of Charles I (1625-1649), though clipped with loss of legend to approach the value of a sixpence; cf. Spink no. 2870, York mint issue of 1643-1644. Obverse description: Worn smooth. Reverse description: Straight-sided shield of Arms of England, Scotland and Ireland; long cross, legend lost. Diameter: 23.7mm, Weight: 2.31gms
