A clipped, silver halfgroat of Charles first dating from 1646-1648. The mint mark is a sceptre.
The coin is worn, scratched and heavily clipped.
The Obverse is a bust of the king, which is covered in fine scratches, but the main features are clear, as is the II denomination behind the king's head. The remaining letters of the legend are ... D G M ... B ... ET H REX
The reverse shield is worn but the heradic symbols are still decernable. The remaining letters of the legend are I ... ONUM F... MAT
It weighs 0.9g and its diameter is 16.3mm

A complete Post-Medieval struck/hammered silver halfgroat of Charles I, AD1625 - AD1649. Obverse description:- a crowned rose. Obverse inscription:- C.DG.ROSA.SINE.SPINA. Reverse:- also a crowned rose. Reverse inscription:-IVST.[---]ONIM.FIRMAT. Slight wear on reverse, otherwise in good condition. The coin measures 17.2mm diameter, thickness 0.8mm, and weighs 0.9g.
