A Post Medieval rose farthing of Charles I (1625-1649 AD). Rose Farthing Type 1. The obverse depicts a double-arched crown with two sceptres in saltire through it; the obverse legend is mostly missing due to surface wear: [...] M[A]G BRI[T]. Reverse depicts a double rose, probably with a crown above; the reverse legend is likewise mostly missing: [FRAN ET] HIB REX. Cf. North 1991 Vol II, No. 2287a; also Spink 2003, p288, No. 3201.

An extremely worn Post Medieval rose farthing, probably of Charles I (1625-1649 AD). Although a full identification is difficult due to the extreme degree of surface wear, it is likely that this farthing is associated with Rose Farthing Type 1c. The obverse seems to depict double-arched crown with sceptres that reach nearly to the edge of the coin; the legend is missing due to wear. The reverse depicts a rose with a double-arched crown; the legend is illegible. Cf. North 1991 Vol II, No. 2289.

A copper-alloy royal farthing token of Charles 1 (AD 1625-1649). Initial mark is a crescent, which is visible on the reverse. North Rose Type 2. Obverse legend reads: CAROLU D.G. [MAG BRI]; it is possible to see remains of the two sceptres which would have passed in saltire through the single arched crown. Reverse legend reads: FRA ET [HIB REX]; reverse depicts a rose surmounted by a single-arched crown. Cf. North 1991 Vol II, Nos. 2291.

A very worn royal farthing token of Charles I (1625-1649 AD). Richmond "rounds" type (North Type 1), of uncertain exact parallel, minted between 1625-1634. Obverse depicts a crown with two sceptres in saltire; legend reads: IACO D G MAG BRIT instead of CARO D G MAG BRIT; it is impossible to see whether there are stops or marks. The reverse depicts a single-arched crowned harp with no inner circles or initial marks; the legend reads: FRA ET HIB REX. Cf. North 1991 Vol II, p164, Type 1, probably No. 2275(a).

An incomplete and extremely worn rose farthing of Charles I (1625-1649 AD). This coin seems to be a mule between North Rose Types 1 and 2 in that it is most similar to Type 1, but has a crescent for an initial mark on both sides as in Type 2. The obverse depicts a double arched crown with two sceptres in saltire through it; the legend reads CAROLUS D G MAG BRI. The reverse depicts a single rose (as in Type 2) surmounted by a double arched crown; the legend reads: FRAN ET HIB REX. Cf. North 1991 Vol II, p165, Nos. 2290(d) and 2291.
